Contradictory Form Validation

Resolve a mandatory pre-application form whose fields can only be satisfied by reading the contradictions as a system.

Last reviewed 2026-10-26

The contradictory form is the game’s opening argument. It asks for an employment status, start date, notice period, salary expectation, and workplace arrangement, then applies rules that make the obvious answers incompatible. Selecting “employed, but on garden leave” changes what the notice-period field means; choosing immediate availability changes which notice answers are coherent.

The form checks are visible and update live. There is no hidden dice roll and no random failure: every field and rule can be inspected, and a valid combination exists. The satirical target is the real-world application form that asks for certainty about facts the applicant cannot control.

The puzzle is part of the free core game and appears in the free campaign and ordinary job applications. It is not a knowledge quiz and does not require real employment history.

What it tests

  • Reading constraints as a connected system rather than field by field
  • Noticing that an apparently invalid answer becomes valid under another field
  • Willingness to stop and inspect rules instead of submitting quickly
