Legacy Cloud Migration Coordinator
Coordinate a multi-year migration from one cloud to a slightly different cloud, subject to change.
Fiction / parody disclosure: Macrohard is a fictional parody of an enterprise-software archetype. It is not affiliated with, sponsored by, or endorsed by any real company.
Macrohard is migrating a legacy system to the cloud. The system is already in a cloud. The target cloud is being renamed. Your job is to coordinate the stakeholders, maintain the migration tracker, and ensure the migration remains too big to cancel.
What you’ll do
Responsibilities
- Maintain a migration plan across three naming conventions and zero approved milestones.
- Schedule meetings about the meetings that will decide the schedule.
- Document risks in a spreadsheet that cannot be opened without a license.
- Confirm that the legacy system is still legacy.
What we need
Requirements
- 6+ years coordinating enterprise migrations that are technically ongoing.
- Experience with cloud, on-premises, and ‘whatever this is’.
- Able to produce a status report that is accurate and contains no information.
- Comfort with a dependency graph that has achieved sentience.
What you get
- Remote work, excluding the days you are required to be on campus.
- One (1) migration tracker with unlimited rows.
- A retirement plan subject to approval.
- Access to the cloud (read-only).
Red flags
- The migration was announced before the system existed.
- The target architecture is a slide with three arrows.
- The previous coordinator is now a dependency.
